About The Program

Green Ladders is an intensive six-week program centered on real world training in green job readiness.  Classes will take place at LaGuardia Community College, The Association for Energy Affordability, Queens Botanical Garden and at various partners throughout the city.

The six-week Green Ladders Job Training Program provides skills-based learning opportunities in environmental building operations and green cleaning.  Depending on the class, participants will have the opportunity to earn the following:

  • OSHA certification
  • Construction
  • Scaffolding
  • Customer service training
  • Energy efficient buildings operations
  • College credit hours at LaGuardia Community College

Learning takes place with classroom components as well as with hands-on learning opportunities at Queens Botanical Garden.  The class is geared towards training for green careers and covers subject matter in the following topics:

  • Metropolitan resiliency
  • Intro to green buildings
  • Green cleaning and housekeeping
  • Building operations & maintenance
  • Waste management
